What are Fairy Doors?
We are so glad you asked! They are small (8”x8” approx) doors that invite the viewer to imagine a magical world behind them. Often incorporated into gardens, fairy doors can also pop up in more populated, unexpected places - like Barrington! Keep an eye out for fairy doors at local businesses and Village sites this summer!

The Kaleidoscope Youth Board, with the support of the Village of Barrington will be creating a series of quirky, whimsical and unique fairy doors that will be tucked away in community spaces, store fronts and businesses, encouraging fairy finders to search throughout town to find them all.

More than a door - it’s an adventure!
Beyond simply hosting doors throughout town, Kaleidoscope School of Fine Art and the Village of Barrington are putting together a calendar of events, classes and community engagement that will add even more excitement to the doors. Check back for a calendar of events, a map, giveaways and promotions at local businesses!
Interested in participating?
We’d love to share the magic with your business. The cost to host a door is $75 to help offset the materials, time and promotion of fairy doors. Additionally, each business will put together a plan for promoting the fairy doors. From selling a fun fairy beverage to promoting the Barrington Fairy Doors to your patrons, we would love to know how you’ll bring the magic to Barrington this summer!
